Most conferences have an accompanying exhibition area and the ITS Group decided to use conference attendance as a strategic part of their marketing plan to break into new geographical areas.
They asked us to attend and speak at conferences on their behalf.
It was decided that the topic for the conference talks would be about productivity and how this can be improved by developing our staff.
The title for the series of four talks was “How to Improve Team Productivity” and they were delivered at four locations ranging from Teesside in North to Derby in the South.
Following on from the success of these conference appearances the ITS group asked Michael Astrop to give talks and other venues on separate subjects, one of the most popular was called, “Changing our Thinking on Change”.
In November 2017 the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Ireland asked us to talk at their annual National Education Day, which was being held at Croke Park Dublin.
Michael delivered a keynote speech (250 people) on the “Key Skills for Effective Communication” and a seminar talk on “Managing Difficult Situations” (50 people).
The past eight years Michael Astrop has attended every conference of the British Institute of Golf Greenkeepers, talking on a range of subjects from report writing through to problem solving.
In addition to business conferences Michael Astrop also gives after-dinner talks and presentations to groups and associations, covering topics from the ‘History of English Inn Signs’ to ‘How it All Began – the History of Yorkshire Business and Brands’.
Just a brief note to say thank you for your presentation yesterday at Middlesbrough. It was direct and delivered with passion and emotion and the content was excellent and really resonated with me. I think you also got your objectives very clearly over. Much appreciated. Keep up the good work.
